Zmeo is a social calendar app: it unifies your calendars, lets you create and share events, chat in direct messages and groups, and discover public events. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We do not use your data for advertising and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Data we collect

• Account & contact info — email, name, and (optionally) phone number, profile photo and bio. Business accounts may add a business address and phone.
• Content you create — messages (text, photos, videos, audio, files), events, descriptions, and any location you choose to attach to a message or event.
• Connections — your friends and groups; and, only if you enable it, contact-based friend discovery to find people you know.
• Linked calendars — only if you connect Google, Microsoft, or an ICS calendar, we read those events (titles, times, locations) to show your unified calendar.
• Identifiers & device — a user ID and your push-notification token.
• Usage — in-app interaction events (which screens/features you use) to improve the app and power event recommendations. This is product analytics — not message content.

We do not collect data for advertising, nor health or financial data.

How we use your data

To provide and operate the App (your account, calendar, chat, events, notifications), to keep it secure, and to improve it and recommend relevant events and a better weekly organisation. Legal bases (where GDPR applies): performance of our contract with you, and your consent for optional features (calendar connection, contact discovery, attaching a location).

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your data. We use service providers that process data on our behalf:

• Supabase — our backend hosting (database, authentication, storage, realtime), hosted in the EU.
• Apple — Sign in with Apple and push notifications.
• Google / Microsoft — only if you connect their calendar, to read your calendar via their official APIs.

Where your data is stored

Primarily in the European Union (Supabase, eu-west-1).

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account in the app at any time, which erases your personal data from our active systems. Email us at privacy@zmeo.app for help.

Your rights

Depending on your location (e.g. under GDPR), you may access, correct, export, or delete your data, and withdraw consent for optional features. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Children

Zmeo is not intended for children under the age required in your country to consent to data processing. We do not knowingly collect data from such children.

Changes

We may update this policy; we’ll post the new version here and update the date above.
